Devotion and Reflection

Scripture:  “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”  John 13:34 ESV

Today, we mark Holy Monday, a pivotal moment during Holy Week. Scripture recounts Jesus cleansing the temple, cursing the barren fig tree, and facing intense questions about His authority. These acts were not just symbolic, they were bold expressions of Christ’s mission, righteousness, and unwavering love for God’s people.  The song for reflection  “I Stand Amazed, How Marvelous” by Celebrity Holiday helps me to reflect onp assionate love of Jesus, and His desire for true worship, fruitful living, and heartfelt obedience. He came to restore holiness, challenge hypocrisy, and fulfill the will of the Father with complete faithfulness.  In the face of opposition, Jesus remained steady in purpose. His love did not falter. And His command remains clear, that we should “love one another.”  Let this day be one of reflection and recommitment. May we love deeply, live boldly, and walk faithfully in His example.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, cleanse our hearts as You cleansed the temple. Let our lives bear the fruit of faith, and help us walk in the authority and love You demonstrated. Teach us to love one another as You have loved us. In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
