Holy Wednesday
Devotion and Reflection
Scriptures: “I and the Father are one.” – John 10:30
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” – Hebrews 13:8
oday is Holy Wednesday, a day that calls us into deep spiritual reflection as we move closer to the cross. I am meditating on the betrayal of Jesus by Judas, those haunting moments of treachery that paved the path to the ultimate sacrifice of love. It is sobering to consider how betrayal from within Jesus’ inner circle became part of the divine plan to redeem the world. In the shadow of this betrayal, I reflect on another scene that stands in contrast, the anointing at Bethany. There, Mary of Bethany poured out precious oil on Jesus, an intimate and prophetic act of love, devotion, and preparation for His suffering and death. Both scenes, one of betrayal, the other of devotion, remind me that even in sorrow, worship still has a place. Even when the world feels uncertain or broken God’s pursuit to love, care, and offer us grace remains the same, in Christ God is the same “yesterday, today, and forever” as the song of reflection, “Yesterday, Today, Forever” by Mercy Chinwo, Gospel Beatz Multimedia, reminds me that I am still called to prepare the way for the Lord with acts of love, humility, and faith. Today, I cling to the promise that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His presence is constant. His love is unfailing. And His purpose is unstoppable. Thanks be to God!
The journey continues…
Blessings and Peace,
