Good Friday Devotion and Reflection
“Father Forgive Them”

Scripture: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”  Luke 23:34 ESV

Today is Good Friday, a solemn and sacred day in our faith journey. On this day, we remember the suffering and crucifixion of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I pause in reverence, not only to mourn His death but to honor the life-giving gift of His sacrifice. The cross is not just a symbol of death, it is a symbol of hope, atonement, and redeeming love. The song “Were You There When They Crucified My Lord” by Rosemary Siemens a the question about Jesus’ death on the cross with the idea of help us reflect the magnitude of Jesus’ sacrifice.  Through His suffering, Jesus took upon Himself the weight of our sins so that we might be reconciled to God. This act of divine love is the foundation of our salvation and the reason we can boldly approach the throne of grace.  Even in agony, He extended forgiveness. What a powerful reminder of the mercy and compassion we are called to reflect in our own lives. On this Good Friday, take a moment to sit with the sorrow of the cross and also the beauty of the love it reveals. Let your heart be open to the depth of Christ’s sacrifice and the immeasurable grace that flows from it.

The journey continues…
Blessings and Peace,
Pastor Monica J
