Advent Blessings and JOY
Scripture
“And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.’” Luke 2:10 (ESV)
Devotion
Today, as I prepare to worship in person and in community, I pause to celebrate the JOY that fills this Advent season. It is the JOY of knowing that God’s Spirit empowers me to share the good news of Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, “God with us.” We join the ancient witness of the shepherds and angels who praised God with overflowing excitement at the birth of the promised Savior, Redeemer, and Sovereign. Jesus opened the path to salvation, HOPE, PEACE, and JOY, inviting us to follow faithfully and to praise God with our hearts, souls, and voices.
Reflection
Take a moment to breathe in the JOY of this sacred season. Where are you experiencing the presence of Christ today? How can you let that JOY radiate through your words, actions, and worship? Remember, JOY is not just an emotion, it is a witness to God’s faithfulness and love. Advent calls us to rejoice in the fulfilled promises of God and to find connection with the simple faith and pure JOY of the early Church. Christ’s arrival still brings great JOY to all people today. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are called to reflect God’s presence by living as examples of Christ’s love and grace each day.

Pray
God of JOY and light, thank You for the gift of this Advent season and for the good news proclaimed over all people. Renew my spirit so that I may carry Your JOY wherever I go. Let my words uplift, my actions inspire, and my heart overflow with gratitude for Jesus, our Redeemer and Lord. May others see Your light shining in me today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
