Song Of The Day

 Advent Blessings and JOY

Scripture
“Then he said to them, Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

Devotion
Today, I reflect on the day after worship in community and how I will act on what I heard, felt, and experienced during Sunday worship. As I continue my Advent focus on JOY, I recognize that God is helping me break through shortcomings and doubt so I can walk in God’s preferred will.  I thank God for JOY as a refuge, the power that enables us to obey and live Christ-centered, Holy Spirit–guided lives. JOY is not shallow happiness; it is a deep, abiding spiritual contentment and confidence rooted in God’s unchanging nature, God’s promises, and the assurance of God’s constant presence.

Reflection
JOY gives us the strength to live faithfully, even when circumstances are uncertain. It helps us move from Sunday inspiration to Monday application. Let today be a continuation of the worship we experienced yesterday. Name one truth from Sunday worship that you will live out today.  Share one act of gratitude or generosity you can practice before the day ends.  Comment with one word that describes how JOY strengthens you right now. Today, let us choose gratitude and delight in God, our unshakable source of strength and joy.

Call to Action
🕯️Reflect on how yesterday’s worship is shaping your steps today.
🕯️Express one intentional act of JOY through kindness, encouragement, or service.
🕯️Share a testimony of how God’s JOY is sustaining you this Advent season.

Pray
Gracious God, thank You for the gift of JOY.  Remind us that Your JOY is our strength when we grow weary or uncertain.  Help us live out what we have heard in worship, embracing Your presence with gratitude and purpose.  May our actions today reflect the deep, abiding JOY that comes from knowing You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
