Scripture:   “Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.” 1 Peter 2:16 ESV

As I  reflect today, on the scripture, let’s consider the responsibility that comes with freedom. True freedom is not the absence of accountability but rather the presence of service.  Freedom is not an excuse for self-indulgence but a call to live with purpose, integrity, and love. There is power in freedom and connection. The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. profoundly stated, “Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly.” These words remind us that our freedom is not just personal but communal. We do not walk this journey alone. Our choices, the injustices we resist, and the love we extend ripple beyond ourselves, shaping our world.  Song of Inspiration: “Ella’s Song” by Sweet Honey in the Rock.  This song, a cherished anthem from my youth, echoes the call for justice and perseverance. It  reminds us that freedom is not just a historical moment—it is an ongoing mission. May its lyrics stir our spirits today as we reflect, act, and witness to the truth.  The freedom movement continues because there is still work to do bridging divisions, speaking truth, and standing in solidarity with the oppressed. As we embrace our liberty in Christ, let us also uplift one another, knowing that our destinies are intertwined.  Let today be a day of awareness, action, and wisdom. May we use our voices, our gifts, and our freedom to serve, uplift, and connect.
