Word for Today – Protection
Scripture
“God will protect you with His pinions; you’ll find refuge under His wings. His faithfulness is a protective shield.” Psalm 91:4 CEB
Devotion – Covered by God’s Protection
Today I reflect on God’s divine Protection. I am humbled and deeply comforted by God’s promise of constant care, reminding me that I am never alone in either my challenges or my joys. God remains my unfailing source of safety and refuge. God’s Protection, in Jesus’ name, is nurturing and close, like a mother hen spreading her wings (pinions) to shield her chicks. Under God’s covering, I find comfort and safety from emotional and spiritual harm. God’s faithfulness, revealed through Jesus Christ, is both a shield that moves with me and a strong wall of defense surrounding my life. The truth of God’s Word and the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit provide active Protection, guarding my heart and mind from fear, danger, and evil. .
Reflection
Today, I am invited not to strive or defend myself by my own strength, but to rest confidently beneath God’s divine covering. God’s Protection is not distant or passive, it is personal, present, and powerful. When I choose to abide under God’s wings, I exchange anxiety for assurance and fear for peace. Protection becomes less about what I am avoiding and more about whom I am trusting. Resting in God’s care allows my soul to remain steady, even when circumstances feel uncertain.
