Word for Today – Persistence
Scripture
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 ESV
Devotion – Pressing Forward with Persistent Faith
Today, I reflect on “Persistence.” I am reminded of the power of steadfast faith and God’s call to remain committed to doing good, even when the path feels heavy or our efforts go unnoticed. God invites us to press forward alongside those who seek to make a positive difference in Jesus’ name—especially for the least, the less, the last, and the lost. Though the work may test our endurance, God assures us that our persistence will never be in vain. In God’s perfect timing, faithfulness will yield transformation and divine blessing. So, do not grow weary or give up—keep doing good, trusting that God’s promise will come to pass.
Reflection
Persistence is God’s call to live out God’s instructions faithfully: praying continually, studying Scripture, serving others, and standing firm in Christ’s teachings when confronted by injustice. Where in my life am I tempted to grow tired of doing good? How is God inviting me to keep showing up in faith, trusting that unseen seeds are still growing?
Call to Action
💗Commit to one act of good, even if it feels small or unnoticed.
💗Pray for renewed strength when weariness sets in.
💗Stand firm in Christ’s teachings when facing resistance or injustice.
💗Encourage someone else who may be struggling to persist.
Pray
Faithful God, thank You for calling me to a life of persistence. When I feel weary or discouraged, renew my strength through Your Holy Spirit. Help me to continue doing good with joy and faith, trusting that You are at work even when I cannot see the results. Teach me to press forward in love, justice, and hope, confident that in Your perfect timing, a harvest will come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
