Devotion – Empowered to Be a Witness
Today, I reflect on what it means to be a “Witness.” As a “Witness” for Christ, I acknowledge that my life is a living demonstration of how the good news of the Gospel continues to spread, through and by me. To “Witness” is both a command and a promise: a command to go and do, and a promise that through the Holy Spirit, I am empowered to be a “Witness” in Jesus’ name. This truth reminds me that effective Christian service is not rooted in talent or training alone, but in being filled and guided by the Holy Spirit. The power and authority to share Christ’s message continue through ordinary people, emphasizing that God offers forgiveness and a personal relationship to everyone who says “yes” to Jesus Christ. Through Christ, hope is released and transformation takes root.
Reflection
As a “Witness” for and of Christ, we become message carriers of hope in a troubled world. Our calling is to prioritize spiritual values over material gain and to invite others to experience God’s grace, renewal, and life-changing love. Being a “Witness” is not about having all the right words; it is about allowing the Holy Spirit to shape my words, actions, and attitudes. My daily choices, compassion, and faithfulness quietly proclaim who Christ is and what Christ continues to do. When I live surrendered to the Spirit, my life itself becomes a testimony of hope.

Pray
Holy and Empowering God, thank You for calling me to be a “Witness” for Christ. Fill me anew with the Holy Spirit, that my life may reflect Your love, truth, and grace. Give me courage to live boldly, humility to serve faithfully, and wisdom to share hope wherever You send me. Use my life as a testimony that draws others to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
