Word for Today – Surrender
Scripture
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22 ESV
Devotion – Living a Life of Surrender
Today, I reflect on “Surrender” the how and why of biblical surrender. To “Surrender” is to release my worries and burdens to God, trusting that God will support and uphold me in my thoughts, words, and actions. God promises that through Christ, those who walk in relationship with God will never be permanently shaken, even in seasons of great trial. This assurance flows from God’s deep and abiding care for humanity. “Surrender” is not weakness; it is trust in action. It is choosing faith over fear and placing my life fully in God’s hands, confident that God’s love is steady and sustaining.
Reflection
“Surrender” is also a practical call, an invitation to make space in our lives for intentional time spent reflecting on the teachings of Jesus and listening for the promptings of the Holy Spirit. When we “Surrender” our joys and concerns to God through prayer and faith, we find renewed strength in God’s unfailing ability to lead and sustain us each day. Living in “Surrender” to God is a life of victory and peace, one that brings joy to God and shapes us more fully in the likeness of Jesus Christ.
