The Word For Today – Worship
Scripture
“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.” Psalm 29:2 ESV
Devotion – A Life Postured in Worship
Today, on this second Sunday of February, I reflect on “Worship.” To “Worship” is to ascribe to intentionally give God the honor and glory that are due to God alone. Worship is more than an activity or a moment in a service; it is a posture of reverence, awe, and heartfelt gratitude. In “Worship” we acknowledge God’s unmatched power, glory, and holiness as revealed through Scripture. Through Jesus Christ, we are invited to come before God with pure hearts and holy intentions. Worship calls us to draw near with humility, dedicating, or rededicating, our lives to the Lord.
Reflection
As we “Worship” we can be assured that the Holy Spirit is present, guiding, comforting, and dwelling with us in every moment of worship. May today be a reminder to make time for intentional worship, responding to God’s majesty with reverence and devotion. How does my daily life reflect a posture of worship? In what ways can I move beyond routine and enter more fully into reverence, awe, and gratitude before God?
Call to Action
💞Set aside intentional time today to worship God without distraction.
💞Offer God your heart anew with humility and gratitude.
💞Invite the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts, words, and actions.
💞Carry the posture of “Worship” into every interaction and decision today.
Pray
Holy and gracious God, I ascribe to You the glory due Your name. I come before You with reverence and gratitude, acknowledging Your holiness and power. Through Jesus Christ, cleanse my heart and renew my spirit. Let my life be an offering of worship, shaped by humility, devotion, and love. Holy Spirit, dwell with me today—guide me, comfort me, and draw me ever closer to You. May all that I do bring You honor and praise. Amen.
