Word For Today – Redeemed
Scripture
“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.’” Isaiah 43:1 ESV
Devotion – Redeemed and Called by Name
Today I reflect on the word “Redeemed.” Thanks be to God, I can proclaim and rest in being “Redeemed” God’s divine declaration of comfort, belonging, and assurance right where I am. In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, today’s Scripture reminds us not to be afraid. The God who created us also calls us Redeemed by name and declares, “You are mine.” This divine affirmation reveals God’s intimate, personal love and God’s protective care over each of us. Through Jesus Christ, we are made new. Once distant, we are now brought into close relationship with the One who formed us. Our identity is no longer tied to the past; instead, we stand secure as joint heirs with Christ.
Reflection
To be “Redeemed” means we have been “bought back” from separation and restored into relationship with God, guided daily by the Holy Spirit. What would change today if I truly lived from the truth that I am called by name and claimed by God? How might fear loosen its grip when I remember that I belong to the One who formed me and redeemed me?
Call to Action
💗Speak the word “Redeemed” over yourself in prayer today.
💗Release fear by trusting God’s promise: “You are mine.”
💗Walk confidently, remembering your identity is secured in Christ.
💗Invite the Holy Spirit to guide your steps and decisions today.
Pray
Gracious and loving God, thank You for redeeming me and calling me by name. When fear and uncertainty arise, help me rest in the truth that I belong to You. Through Jesus Christ, remind me that I am made new, restored, and deeply loved. Guide me by Your Holy Spirit today, that I may live boldly and faithfully as one who is redeemed. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
