Word For Today – Sanctified

Scripture:
“Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:23 ESV

Devotion – Set Apart and Kept by God
Today, I reflect on what it means to be sanctified. I thank God for Jesus and the continual work of the Holy Spirit, who keeps me blameless before God. I am “Sanctified,” set apart, belonging fully to God in spirit, soul, and body, through Jesus Christ.  To be “Sanctified” means allowing God to work in and through every part of who we are: our inner spiritual life, our mental and emotional being, and our physical existence. God does not sanctify us partially, God desires to make us whole. Every thought, every motive, every action is being shaped by divine love and holy purpose.  To be “Sanctified” is God preparing us for service, setting us apart for holy use, and transforming our character to reflect God’s nature.  To be “Sanctified” is not a one-time moment but a sacred process. It is the ongoing work of being preserved, guarded, and strengthened by God’s power so that we remain faithful. Even when life tests us, God is keeping us.

Reflection
To live “Sanctified” is to serve as a living example of the hope and love found in Christ, walking in anticipation of Jesus’ return.  Even when we feel weak, God is refining us. We are not simply waiting, we are being prepared. We are not simply existing—we are being transformed.  In what areas of my spirit, soul, or body is God calling me to deeper surrender?  How is God shaping my character through this current season?  What does it look like for me to live visibly “set apart” in love and integrity today?
