Word For Today – Strengthened
Scripture
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 ESV
Devotion
My focus today is on the spiritual meaning of being “Strengthened.” As I enter this new day in the sacred season of Lent, I am “Strengthened” in Christ. In Christ, I find contentment and the power to endure every circumstance, whether abundance or trial, through reliance on Jesus rather than my own strength. To be “Strengthened” in Christ comes not from endless success but from the sufficiency of Christ, who empowers us from within through the daily guidance of the Holy Spirit to remain faithful, steady, and hopeful, even when our external circumstances seem impossible to overcome.
Reflection
God’s promise is that we will be “Strengthened” as we rest in God’s presence through Jesus Christ. As we reflect, fast, and pray during the 40 days of Lent, may we learn to walk in God’s will, rather than chasing our own ambitions or striving for superhuman ability. Where am I trying to rely on my own strength instead of resting in Christ?
How might this Lenten season teach me deeper contentment and trust?
What would it look like to draw daily strength from the Holy Spirit instead of striving for control?
Call to Action
✝️Spend time in prayer, asking God to strengthen you from within.
✝️Fast from self-reliance and choose dependence on Christ.
✝️Reflect on areas where you need endurance rather than escape.
✝️Declare Philippians 4:13 over your life today.
✝️Walk confidently, knowing Christ is your source of strength.
Pray
Gracious and faithful God, thank You for strengthening me through Jesus Christ. In this sacred season of Lent, teach me to rest in Your sufficiency. Help me to rely not on my own understanding or ability, but on Your Spirit who empowers me daily. Strengthen my heart to endure trials, remain steady in faith, and walk in Your will. May my life reflect quiet confidence in Christ, who is my source and sustainer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
