Word For Today – Radiant

Scripture:
“Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.”
Psalm 34:5 ESV

Devotion – Turned Toward the Light
Today, I reflect on the word “Radiant.” To be “Radiant” is the outward evidence of an inward encounter with God. It is not about forcing myself to shine; it is about turning my face toward God and allowing God’s light to shine in and through me. When we look to God in trust, worship, and honest surrender, God’s peace becomes visible in us. There is a holy glow that comes not from performance, but from presence. The more time we spend with God, the more our countenance changes. Our faces, our posture, our words, and even our demeanor begin to testify that we have been in the presence of God.  When we do, we reflect God’s “Radiant” joy, peace, and glory in the world today. In Jesus’ name, may we shine—not with our own strength—but with the light of Christ within us.

Reflection
To live “Radiant” is to follow Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit into a place of joy. It is to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, even in uncertain times, choosing to live as those whose faces are turned toward God.What does my countenance reveal about where my focus has been?  Have I been striving to shine on my own, or have I been turning my face toward God?  How might my presence change if I intentionally spent time in worship and surrender before beginning my day?

Call to Action

☀️Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus throughout the day

Pray
Gracious and Loving God, Thank You for the promise that those who look to You are radiant. Teach me to turn my face toward You daily. Let Your light shine in and through me so that others may see Your peace, joy, and glory reflected in my life. Guard my heart from striving and help me rest in Your presence. Through Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit, make my life a testimony of Your radiant love.
