Word For Today – Free

Scripture
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”  John 8:36 ESV

Devotion – Free Indeed: Living in Sacred Liberation
Today, I reflect on what it truly means to be “Free.” In Jesus Christ, I am liberated from the bondage of sin and its spiritual consequences. Through Christ’s redemption, I am restored to right relationship with God.  We are “Free” because Christ has bought us back, rescued us, and delivered us from sin, fear, death, and condemnation. To know what it means to be “Free” in Christ is not in the social or political sense, but a far deeper one: a sacred, spiritual liberation.  To be “Free” in Christ is to be “Free” from guilt, from sin’s power, and from ultimate separation from God. To be  “Free” is to live fully in the power of God’s will. This freedom is not reckless independence; it is holy dependence. It is choosing to abide in Jesus’ teachings, trusting Jesus’ truth, and walking daily under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Reflection
As we live under the daily guidance of the Holy Spirit, may we remember our true worth as people set “Free” in Christ. To be “Free:is to accept Jesus, abide in God’s Word, and walk in the peace that comes from knowing we belong to God. That peace anchors us. That identity sustains us. That freedom transforms us.What areas of my life still feel bound by guilt, fear, or condemnation?  Am I fully embracing the spiritual freedom Christ has already secured for me?  How does abiding in Jesus’ teachings help me walk confidently in freedom today?
