Word For Today – Steadfast

Scripture:
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
1 Corinthians 15:58 ESV

Title of Devotion – Living a Steadfast Faith
Today, I reflect on the meaning of “Steadfast.” To be “Steadfast” is a spiritual call to persevere in my full commitment to serving God. It is the bridge between knowing the truth of Christ’s victory over death and living that truth daily, with “Steadfast” confidence that God is always with me. “Steadfast” faith is the unshakable call to remain firm, unwavering, and consistent in devotion to Jesus. It resists doubt, false teaching, and distraction, whether from life’s troubles or even its joys that might pull me away from time with God. During this Lenten season, may our praying, fasting, repentance, and reflection strengthen us to pursue a life of active and purposeful service to God. Guided by the Holy Spirit, may we hold fast to the “Steadfast” hope of the resurrection, trusting that no effort made in Jesus’ name is ever in vain.

Reflection:

When we anchor our lives in Christ, we become immovable not because of our strength, but because of God’s faithfulness working within us.Where in my life is God calling me to be more steadfast? What distractions have pulled me away from consistent devotion? How does Christ’s resurrection give me confidence to remain firm?In what ways can I abound more fully in the work of the Lord today?

Call to Action:
💞Set aside time
for prayer and reflection today.
💞Identify one distraction and surrender it to God.
💞Serve someone in a tangible way as an act of steadfast faith.
💞Declare aloud: “My labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
💞Remain immovable in your trust in God’s promises.

Pray
Gracious and Faithful God, thank You for calling me to live a steadfast life rooted in the victory of Jesus Christ. Strengthen my heart to remain firm and immovable in my devotion to You. Guard me from distractions and doubts that seek to pull me away from Your presence. During this sacred Lenten season, deepen my commitment through prayer, fasting, repentance, and reflection. Empower me by Your Holy Spirit to abound in Your work, trusting that every act done in Jesus’ name carries eternal purpose. In Christ’s victorious and steadfast name, Amen.
