Scripture: “Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, ‘Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.'” – Matthew 2:1-2 (ESV)

Happy first Sunday of 2025! Though snowed in, my heart is warm with gratitude and worship. This morning, at 9 a.m., I joined my New Awakening UMC community of faith in spirit, reflecting on the journey of the wise men who sought Jesus.  Their quest, guided by a star, inspires me to continue my own journey of seeking Christ in all seasons, even when the path is covered in snow. My song of inspiration today is “We Three Kings” by Reawaken Hymns—a beautiful reminder of the gifts we bring to honor the King of Kings.

As we embrace this new year, let the light of Christ guide us, just as it guided the wise men. Wherever your journey takes you, may it be filled with blessings, peace, and the assurance that God is leading the way.
