The Word For Today – STRENGTH

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 ESV
Devotion – Strength for the Journey Ahead
Today I reflect on the meaning of Strength and what it truly means to actively trust and depend on God, who is my strength. In God’s strength, I am renewed daily—enabled to overcome difficulties with spiritual resilience and to rise above challenges without becoming physically or spiritually exhausted. As we step into this new year, we are invited to lean fully into God’s divine empowerment. This is not passive waiting, but active trust, expectant, hope-filled reliance on the Lord. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, given in Jesus’ name, God supplies strength that is new every day, sufficient for both life’struggles and the ordinary demands of daily living.God’s promise reminds us that God provides endurance for every pace of life. When we are “running” through significant challenges, God sustains us. When we are simply “walking” through routine responsibilities, God sustains us.
Reflection
God carries us still. In every season and situation, God supplies the stamina we need to move forward in faith.Where do you need God’s strength today—physically, spiritually, or emotionally? Pause and consider how active trust in God can renew you, not just for big battles, but for the everyday steps of obedience and faithfulness.
Call to Action
🕊️Lean intentionally on God’s strength rather than your own
🕊️Practice active waiting through prayer, trust, and obedience
🕊️Invite the Holy Spirit to renew your strength daily
🕊️Face challenges and daily tasks with confidence in God
Pray
Gracious God, You are my strength and my sustainer. As I begin this new year, I choose to trust in You with my whole heart. Renew my strength daily by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Help me to wait on You with active faith, rising above challenges without growing weary. Give me endurance for both the big battles and the everyday steps of life. I receive Your strength today and walk forward in confidence, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
