The Word For Today Mercy
Scripture
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16 ESV
Devotion – Approaching the Throne of Mercy
Today, I thank God for Jesus. Through Jesus Christ, I can confidently approach God’s throne of grace to receive “Mercy” not punishment for sin, and grace, God’s unmerited favor and strength. In every time of need, weakness, or struggle, God provides well-timed and abundant help. “Mercy” is an open invitation for fearless access to God’s loving provision, secured by Christ’s deep understanding of human temptation and suffering. When I come to God in Jesus’ name, honestly acknowledging my needs and failures, I discover a compassionate, powerful, and ever-present source of “Mercy” and timely help, made possible through Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Reflection
As we continure in the year 2026, may we find and make space daily for devotion and reflections. Ask and reflect today on these questions: Where do you need mercy today? Instead of hiding in guilt or fear, God invites you to draw near with confidence. Mercy reminds us that we are not rejected but welcomed, not condemned but helped. In Christ, God’s grace meets us exactly where we are and gives us strength to move forward.
