The Word For Today – Light

Scripture
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16 ESV

Devotion – Living in the Light
Today I reflect on what it means to be and live in God’s “Light” openly and authentically, without hiding God’s influence in my life. As God’s “lights,” I am called to live a life of visible good works, demonstrating my faith through kindness, integrity, and compassion, so that others recognize God’s influence in me. God’s influence through Jesus is about being a beacon of hope and truth in the world, not concealing faith, but allowing the light of Christ to shine through my life. When I live transformed by Christ, God’s power and goodness are reflected through my actions, words, and character.

Reflection
Living in God’s Light challenges me to ask: Is my faith visible? Am I allowing the Holy Spirit to guide my daily choices so that others see God’s goodness through me? My ultimate goal is that, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, people see the goodness in my life and attribute that goodness to God—acknowledging God as the true source of the Light that shines through me each day.

Call to Action
☀️Choose to live openly
in God’s Light without hiding your faith.
☀️Practice visible acts of kindness, integrity, and compassion.
☀️Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your words and actions.
☀️Reflect Christ so others are drawn to give glory to God.

Pray
Gracious God, thank You for being the source of all Light. Help me to live openly in Your presence, allowing the light of Christ to shine through my life. Guide me by Your Holy Spirit so that my actions reflect Your goodness, love, and truth. May others see the light in me and give glory to You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
