Thankful Thursday Devotion
 Fervent in Spirit, Serving the Lord

Scripture:  “Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.”
Romans 12:11 ESV

Today, I give thanks for a new day and the refining, renewing presence of our mighty God. I am filled with heartfelt gratitude for the passionate love and devotion I experience daily as a believer. I desire to serve the Lord not passively, but with fervor and zeal!  Let the Holy Spirit fall afresh in our homes, in our churches, in our relationships, and deep within our hearts. May the Holy Spirit burn away fear, distraction, and spiritual complacency so we might be fully alive and alert to God’s movement in our lives.  Let this be our prayer:  “Lord, let the fire of Your Spirit fall on us today.” Let this prayer be both a wake-up call and a holy invitation.  Let it remind us that our faith isn’t meant to be lukewarm; it’s meant to burn brightly. To be “fervent in spirit” is to live with holy passion, to serve with intensity, and to walk boldly in alignment with God’s will. The fire of the Holy Spirit isn’t just for yesterday’s saints or Sunday’s worship. It’s for today. It’s for you. And it’s for right now.  Let’s be Spirit-filled believers who burn brightly for Christ. The world needs your light.
