Today’s Song For Reflection
Tuesday, Redemption and Hope in Christ
Day 7 of Lent
Tuesday, March 11, 2025
Scripture: “And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23 ESV
What am I giving or giving up today to follow Christ? As we meditate on the words of the hymn “The Old Rugged Cross” by Rosemary Siemens, is an invitation to find the courage to carry our cross, knowing that redemption and eternal hope are found in Jesus alone. The cross is an “emblem of suffering and shame.” Yet, in this Lenten season, I acknowledge that through Christ’s suffering, all of humanity finds redemption. The journey of Lent calls us to reflect on His sacrifice and our response. To follow Christ is to live in the tension of surrender and hope. The cross was not the end of the story, it was the doorway to victory. Each day, we are invited to let go of the things that keep us bound and step into the freedom Christ offers. What does it look like to deny ourselves today? Is it surrendering a comfort, a habit, a thought pattern, or an attitude that hinders our walk with God in Jesus’ name?
The journey continues…
Blessings and Peace,
