Word For Today – New
Scripture:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV
Devotion – Made New in Christ
Today, I reflect on, acknowledge, and celebrate what it truly means to be made “New” in Christ Jesus. To be “New” in Christ means I am spiritually transformed, made into a unique creation by God through Jesus’ redeeming work. The old me,defined by sin, selfishness, and separation from God, is gone. My past failures and guilt have been removed, and I am now guided daily by the Holy Spirit. To be “New” in Christ does not mean I am perfect; rather, I am being perfected. God is continually reshaping me into the person God knows I can become. This “New” life begins with saying “yes” to Christ and walking in repentance. It is marked by a renewed perspective, a transformed mind, changed desires, and the ongoing process of sanctification, becoming more like Jesus in my thoughts, words, and actions.
Reflection:
As we continue through this season of Lent, may we sincerely recognize what it means to be made “New” by God through Jesus Christ. Let us fully embrace this “New” identity, one not defined by our past or our mistakes, but by our position in Christ and alignment with God’s will and ways.What parts of my “old” self am I still holding onto that God has already called me to release? How can I intentionally walk today in the “New” identity Christ has given me?

☀️Invite the Holy Spirit to transform your thoughts and desires.
☀️Choose one action today that reflects your “New” identity in Christ.

Pray
Gracious God, thank You for making me “New” through Jesus Christ. Thank You that my past does not define me and that Your mercy rewrites my story. Continue to transform my mind, shape my heart, and guide my steps through the Holy Spirit. Help me to fully embrace my “New” identity and to walk daily in alignment with Your will and ways. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
