Word For Today – Presence
Scripture
“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14 ESV
Devotion – Resting in the Presence of God
Today, I take time to reflect on and celebrate the “Presence” of God in Jesus’ name. I am humbled and awed by God’s “Presence” and promise to personally accompany me because of my relationship with Christ. Through the Holy Spirit, God’s “Presence” faithfully provides guidance, protection, forgiveness, and peace, even when I fall short. God’s active “Presence” in my life assures me of a personal relationship and daily companionship that brings true peace. God’s “Presence” is a promise of divine favor, power, and protection as we journey through life. In God’s “Presence” I am spiritually healed, whole, and complete. For all of us, God’s “Presence,” revealed in Jesus Christ and through the prompting of the Holy Spirit, offers the assurance of lasting guidance and security. It leads us to rest and gives direction for every step forward. During this Lenten season and beyond, may we find strength and comfort in the promised “Presence” of God, the indwelling of God’s Spirit who empowers our daily faith and practice, in Jesus’ name.
Reflection
When we intentionally pause and recognize God’s “Presence” in our lives, we are reminded that we are never alone. God walks with us through every moment, our joys, struggles, decisions, and uncertainties. The promise spoken to Moses in Exodus is also a promise for us today: God’s presence goes before us and brings rest to our souls. In a busy and often overwhelming world, the awareness of God’s presence becomes our place of peace and reassurance.
Call to Action

Pray
Gracious and loving God, thank You for the gift of Your holy Presence in my life. I praise You for the promise that You walk with me and give me rest. When I feel uncertain or overwhelmed, remind me that You are near, guiding, protecting, and strengthening me through the Holy Spirit. Help me to remain aware of Your presence throughout this day and to live in a way that reflects Your peace and love to others. May Your presence renew my spirit, direct my steps, and fill my heart with joy and confidence in You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
