Word For Today – Calling

Scripture
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”  Romans 11:29 ESV

Devotion – Faithful to God’s Calling
Today, I reflect on the meaning of “Calling.” I find peace and rest in knowing that God’s “Calling” on my life is rooted in God’s grace. Even when I stumble, God lovingly offers the opportunity to repent and return. God does not withdraw our”Calling” God’s grace, spiritual gifts, or covenant promises that are first placed within us.  God’s “Calling” remains steadfast and secure, even when we cannot clearly see the path ahead. In a world marked by chaos, uncertainty, and resistance to God’s will, we can trust that God’s “Calling” and purposes remain unchanged. Our “Calling” is not built on our perfection but on God’s faithfulness.  Thanks be to God, in Jesus’ name, that God does not change God’s mind about the gifts, blessings, purpose, and “Calling” placed upon our lives. God’s promises stand firm. During this Lenten season, we are invited to pause, remember, and reflect on God’s  faithfulness that triumphs over evil and human failure.

Reflection
Through Christ and by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are reminded that God’s “Calling” and God’s gifts are not dependent on our worthiness. They flow from God’s great love for us.  In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven, renewed, and continually invited to walk faithfully in the purpose God has prepared for us.  What is God calling you to remember, release, or renew today? Where might God be inviting you to trust again in the “Calling” placed on your life?

Call to Action
🌻Thank God for the gifts and “Calling” placed on your life.
🌻Reflect on where God may be “Calling” you to step forward in faith.
🌻Release guilt or doubt that makes you question God’s “Calling” for you.
🌻Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in living your  “Calling” with courage and humility.
🌻Encourage someone who may need reassurance about their God-given “Calling.”

Pray
Gracious and loving God, thank You for calling us according to Your purpose and grace. When we feel uncertain or unworthy, remind us that Your gifts and calling are steadfast and unchanging. Through Jesus Christ, forgive our failures and renew our hearts. Lead us by the Holy Spirit so that we may walk faithfully in the path You have prepared for us. Shape our hearts to follow Your calling with humility and courage, and use our lives to draw others nearer to You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
