Monday Devotion and Reflection
“The Lord Is Near”

Scripture:  “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Psalm 145:18 ESV

As “Resurrection People,” we continue to walk in the light and love of the Risen Christ. Today, my heart offers a simple but powerful prayer: “Draw me close, oh God.” In a world that often pulls us in many directions, this prayer reminds us to intentionally draw near to the One who is already near to us.  Today’s scripture verse assures us that God is not distant.  God is close to those who seek God earnestly and honestly. No matter our circumstances, whether joyful or weary, confident or uncertain, God listens. He draws near to the sincere heart.  The Song of the Day, “Draw Me Close to You” by Michael W. Smith, echoes that longing for intimacy with our Creator. Let the lyrics be more than words, let them become your prayer.  What distractions might be keeping you from experiencing the closeness of God today?  How can you carve out sacred space to call on Him in truth?  Let your heart whisper this simple prayer throughout your day:  “Draw me close, Lord. Let me feel Your nearness and rest in Your presence.”
