Dear Friends,

As we enter the month of May, I invite you to journey with as I to what speaks to the heart of our identity and purpose as believers, Calling… 

Many ask, “What am I here for?” or “How do I know if God is calling me to something more?” This four-week series explores what it truly means to be called by God, not just to a role or a career, but to a relationship with the One who created you. Anchored in the powerful words of Jesus from John 15:5, we’ll remember that we bear fruit not by striving alone, but by staying connected to the Vine.

May 2025 Weekly Thoughts for Reflection:
What is one practical step you can take today toward your calling?

1.  What is Calling?

We begin by defining “calling” in both general and specific ways, using familiar biblical examples like Moses and Paul. We’ll explore how our calling flows from our relationship with God—not from titles, tasks, or achievements.  Reflection: Have you ever sensed God calling you to something?

2.  Can Anyone Have a Call on Their Life?

This week breaks down the myth that calling is reserved for pastors or missionaries. From fishermen to shepherds, God uses everyday people in extraordinary ways—and He desires the same for you.  Reflection: What gifts or passions has God given you that might point to your calling?

3.  What If You Don’t Like What God is Calling You To?

Let’s get honest. Sometimes the call feels uncomfortable. We’ll learn from Jonah and Moses how to move past fear, embrace obedience, and discover the joy on the other side of surrender.  Reflection: What fears or hesitations might be holding you back from saying “yes” to God?

4: What Action Steps Once You Discern Your Calling?

Calling leads to action. We’ll talk about discernment, small steps of faith, and serving where you are. Most importantly, we’ll remember to remain connected to the Vine as we walk it out.  Reflection: What is one practical step you can take today toward your calling?
