Rev. Dr. Martin Luther Kind Day 2025

Scripture “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” — 2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)

This verse reminds me that fear has no hold on us because we are equipped with God’s divine authority and love. I encourage you to step out confidently today knowing that Jesus’ promise of the Holy Spirit has been fulfilled and God is with you and me.  In Jesus, we have incredible power to overcome life’s challenges and to be a positive force in the world. In every situation, God’s presence equips us with what we need to rise above fear and embrace God’s gifts of power, love, and self-control. It is not always easy to walk this path, but through faith, we are empowered to reflect God’s light, in Jesus’ name, in the best and worst of times. The song, “We Shall Overcome” by Morehouse College, arranged by Wendell P. Whalum on this Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Day I am reflecting on the enduring spirit of resilience and hope this day and everyday God is offering us.  Let us go forward in faith, determined to overcome by the power of Jesus’ name and to extend His grace to others.
