Lent Day 27
“Rescued and Redeemed”
 Tuesday, April 8, 2025

Scripture:  “The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”  2 Timothy 4:18 ESV

Devotion:
My heart is full of gratitude for God’s grace and mercy, not just concepts, but real, life-changing forces that have pulled me out of some of my darkest moments. It was in those low places that I encountered the loving arms of a Savior who didn’t turn away but came running to my rescue.  The scripture reminds me that Grace met me where I was. Mercy shielded me from what I deserved. And now, I live with the confidence that God is not only rescuing me but also perfecting me, day by day, moment by moment—through continual presence and support. The song “Came To My Rescue” by Hillsong United, is an affirmation that there is a sacred kind of freedom that comes from truly knowing Jesus. It’s a freedom that isn’t bound by circumstances but grounded in relationship. And with that freedom comes joy, not a fleeting happiness, but a deep, sustaining joy that strengthens and steadies the soul.  Take a moment today to consider the ways God has rescued you, not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. Where would you be if not for God’s intervention? Reflect on how God’s  presence is shaping and perfecting you, even now.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your rescuing grace. Thank You for not giving up on me, even when I had given up on myself. Continue to shape me by Your Spirit and draw me closer to You each day. May I never forget the joy and freedom that comes from walking with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
