Word For Today – Forsake

Scripture
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV

Devotion – Never Forsaken
Today I reflect on the word “Forsake.” It is a word that often carries the weight of abandonment, loneliness, and disappointment. Yet, through God’s promises, it becomes a powerful reminder of His unfailing love and faithfulness. Because of the finished work of Jesus Christ, I can rest in the assurance that God will never “Forsake” or abandon me.  I thank God for the gift of this new day and for the continual presence of the Holy Spirit, who gently reminds me that I am never alone. Even when circumstances change, people disappoint us, or the future seems uncertain, God’s presence remains constant. God’s faithfulness is not determined by our feelings or circumstances but by God’s unchanging character.  As we face the unknowns of today, we can walk forward with courage and confidence, knowing we are covered by God’s grace and sustained by God’s promises. God provides strength when we are weak, comfort when we are discouraged, wisdom when we are uncertain, and peace when fear attempts to overwhelm us. Whatever we face today, we can confidently declare that  God will not “Forsake” us because God walks with us every step of the way.

Reflection
Today, let us choose courage over fear, trust over uncertainty, and faith over doubt. Our God is always with us, never distant, never absent, and never failing.  Take a moment today to remember a time when God faithfully carried you through a difficult season. Let that testimony strengthen your confidence that the same faithful God who was with you then is with you now. God’s presence is your greatest assurance, and God’s promises remain true yesterday, today, and forever.

Call to Action
☀️Thank God who will never “Forsake” you.
☀️Replace fear with faith by standing on God’s promises.
☀️Invite the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts, words, and decisions.
☀️Encourage someone, by reminding them of God’s faithful presence.
☀️Walk boldly today, knowing that God goes before you and walks with you.

Pray
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise that You will never leave me nor forsake me. Because of Jesus Christ, I have confidence that I am never abandoned and never alone. Thank You for the daily guidance and comfort of the Holy Spirit, who continually reminds me of Your faithful presence. Strengthen my heart to choose courage over fear and trust over uncertainty. Help me to rest securely in Your promises and to share Your hope with others who need encouragement today. May my life reflect unwavering confidence in the God who is always present, always faithful, and always loving. In the powerful name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
