Word For The Day – Watchful

Scripture
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 ESV

Devotion – Living a Watchful Life
Today, I reflect on what it truly means to be “Watchful.” I thank God, in Jesus’ name, for the gift of a new day and for the wisdom found in today’s scripture. It reminds me that while evil is real, I am not called to live in fear, but to remain alert and grounded in faith. Being “Watchful” calls me to a posture of spiritual awareness—firm in my faith, yet fully dependent on God. I release my worries and cast my cares upon Him, choosing vigilance over anxiety and trust over fear. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I am equipped to recognize and stand against spiritual attacks.  As I walk through this day, I do so with confidence, knowing that God is with me.  Let us remain “Watchful,” anchored in faith and attentive to God’s presence in every moment.  God strengthens, restores, and sustains me, empowering me to face whatever comes my way.  Where is God calling me to be more spiritually alert and attentive today?
