Word For Today – Safe

Scripture
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10 ESV.

Devotion – Safe in the Presence of God
Today I reflect on the word “Safe.” I give thanks to God for the gift of this new day and for the assurance that my safety is not rooted in circumstances, possessions, or human strength, but in the unchanging character of God. God is faithful, true, and steadfast through every season of life.  The Scriptures remind us that the name of the Lord is a strong tower, a place of refuge, protection, and security for all who trust in God. When life’s uncertainties, fears, or challenges arise, we are invited to run to God rather than to anxiety, worldly riches, or our own understanding. In God’s presence we discover a “Safe” place, lasting peace, confident hope, and divine protection.  Through Jesus Christ, we have access to this everlasting refuge, and through the daily guidance of the Holy Spirit we are reminded that we never walk alone. The Holy Spirit anchors our hearts in God’s promises, strengthens our faith, and leads us into God’s perfect “Safe” place of peace.  Being “Safe” does not mean we will never experience difficulties. Rather, it means that no matter what we face, God remains our refuge, our covering, and our strong tower. As we place our complete trust in God’s character and rely on God’s unfailing love, we rest in the confidence that we are held securely in God’s hands.

Reflection
Today, let us choose faith over fear, confidence over worry, and trust over uncertainty. In every moment, may we remember that we are truly “Safe” in the presence of God.  Where have I been placing my sense of security, in temporary things or in the eternal character of God? How can I intentionally run to God first today, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide, protect, and sustain me?

Call to Action
☀️Thank God for being your “Safe” place, refuge, and strong tower.
☀️Pause and pray when anxiety or fear arises, before reacting.
☀️Trust God’s character more than your circumstances.
☀️Invite the Holy Spirit to guide your decisions throughout the day.
☀️Share words of encouragement with someone who needs reassurance.
☀️Rest knowing that God is your “Safe” place,  you are in God’s loving care.

Pray
Gracious and Loving God, thank You for being my refuge, my strong tower, and my safe place. Thank You for Your faithful, unchanging character that never fails. Through Jesus Christ, I place my trust completely in You. Fill me with the peace that comes from knowing I am secure in Your presence. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, direct my steps, and remind me throughout this day that I never walk alone. Help me to rely on Your wisdom rather than my own understanding and to choose faith instead of fear. May my life reflect the confidence and hope that come from resting safely in You. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
