Scripture
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” — John 15:16 ESV
Devotion – Chosen to Bear Lasting Fruit
Today I reflect on the word “Chose.” As this new day begins, I am reminded that my salvation and calling both begin with God. Before I sought God, God lovingly sought me through the saving work of Jesus Christ. Through the daily guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, God continues to lead me in His will and direct my steps according to His purpose. When God “Chose” us it was and is more than a privilege, it is an invitation to live with purpose. God “Chose” and appointed each of us to bear fruit that reflects Christ’s love, grace, mercy, peace, and compassion. Our words, actions, attitudes, and relationships become living testimonies of God’s transforming presence. Every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, every step of faith, and every expression of forgiveness becomes evidence that God is at work within us. Jesus reminds us that our calling is not based on our achievements but on God’s grace. Because God “Chose” us, we are empowered to make a meaningful impact wherever we serve, work, worship, and live. As we remain connected to Christ and sensitive to the Holy Spirit, our lives will produce fruit that endures and brings glory to God.
Reflection
Today, remember that you are not forgotten, overlooked, or without purpose. You have been chosen by God through Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit to make a difference in the lives of others. Walk confidently in your God-given calling, trusting that the One who chose you will also equip you to fulfill His purpose. Let your life bear fruit that points others to God’s unfailing love.

Prayer
Creator God, thank You for choosing me through Your Son, Jesus Christ, and for calling me to live a life of purpose. Fill me afresh with the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit so that I may bear fruit that honors You. Help me to reflect Your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in all that I do. May my life be a testimony of Your grace and may others be drawn closer to You through my words and actions. Use me today to make a lasting difference for Your Kingdom. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
