Word For Today – Knowledge
Scripture:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7 ESV
Devotion – Rooted in Reverence: The Foundation of True Knowledge
Today I reflect on the gift of spiritual “Knowledge.” I seek true, Christ-centered, God-breathed “Knowledge” as I spend time with God in daily reflection and devotion. I acknowledge that real “Knowledge” and understanding begins with a deep, reverent respect for God’s authority and character, not simply with intellectual ability. When we fear or revere the Lord, we hold God in awe, in Jesus’ name, honoring God’s holiness and submitting to God as our Creator. True spiritual “Knowledge” leads to a fruitful and successful life that cannot exist apart from intentional time in God’s presence. It calls us to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, guiding us to live with integrity—even when dishonest choices seem easier, because our actions flow from our respect for God’s holiness.
Reflection:
During this Lenten season, let us humbly acknowledge our personal shortcomings and cultivate a teachable spirit. May we resist pride and stubbornness, and instead be grounded in true knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of God’s will and ways. Am I seeking knowledge for information, or transformation? How is my reverence for God shaping my daily decisions and attitudes?
Call to Action
🙏🏾Spend time with God today through prayer and Scripture.
🙏🏾Ask the Holy Spirit to increase your understanding and discernment.
🙏🏾Choose integrity in a situation where compromise may seem easier.
🙏🏾Practice humility by remaining teachable and open to correction.
🙏🏾Reflect on one area where you can grow in wisdom and apply God’s truth.
Prayer:
Almighty God, in Jesus’ name, thank You for the gift of true spiritual knowledge. Teach me to revere You with a heart full of awe and humility. Help me to seek not just information, but transformation through Your Word and Your presence. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, decisions, and actions so that I may walk in integrity and wisdom. Remove pride and replace it with a teachable spirit, grounded in Your truth. Lead me daily in Your will and ways, that my life may reflect Your glory.
