Word For Today – Anchor
Scripture
“We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain.” Hebrews 6:19 ESV
Devotion – Anchored in God’s Unchanging Hope
Today, I reflect on the word “Anchor.” I thank God, in Jesus’ name, for being the secure and unbreakable “Anchor” of my life and for the Holy Spirit’s guidance through this new day. Biblical hope is a firm and steadfast “Anchor” because it rests on God’s unchanging character and faithful promises. Through faith in Christ, we have access to God’s presence and assurance that God is always with us. When life becomes uncertain or unpredictable, we can remain steady, not because every circumstance is calm, but because God is our “Anchor” and our hope, the One who never changes.

What am I facing today that I need to surrender to God and trust Him to securely anchor?

Pray
Gracious God, thank You for being the sure and steadfast Anchor of my soul. In Jesus’ name, I begin this new day trusting Your unchanging character, faithful promises, and abiding presence. When circumstances become uncertain and the storms of life arise, keep my heart firmly anchored in You. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, words, decisions, and actions. Help me not to be moved by fear, worry, or what I cannot control. Remind me that my hope is secure because it rests in You. Strengthen my faith to trust You in calm seasons and difficult ones. May my life reflect the confidence, peace, and stability that come from knowing Christ. Today, I choose to hold firmly to the hope You have given me, knowing that You will never fail or change. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
