Word For Today – Power

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Devotion – Empowered to Be a Witness
Today I reflect on the spiritual meaning of “Power,” the divine empowerment given through the Holy Spirit. I thank God, through Jesus Christ, for the gift of a new day and for the “Power” I have received to live as a faithful witness for God, locally, regionally, and globally. The power Jesus promised is not rooted in human strength, personal ability, or worldly influence. It is the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, enabling us to live lives that reflect God’s love, truth, and grace. This holy power equips us to stand firm in faith, to love beyond our comfort, to forgive when it is difficult, to serve with humility, and to proclaim the Good News with courage and compassion. Being a witness is more than sharing our testimony with words; it is living in such a way that others see Christ through our attitudes, our character, and our actions. Every act of kindness, every prayer offered, every word of encouragement, every moment of forgiveness, and every opportunity to serve becomes evidence of God’s power at work within us. Through both our actions and our words, we are called to be everyday witnesses of God’s truth and grace, trusting that the Holy Spirit will guide, strengthen, and empower us wherever God sends us.
Reflection
Today, let us step into this day as living testimonies of God’s “Power” that equips, transforms, and sends us. May our lives reflect God’s presence, not only in what we say but also in how we live, serve, and love. In what area of my life is the Holy Spirit calling me to rely more on God’s power than on my own strength? How can my words, actions, and attitude today reflect Christ and serve as a faithful witness to others?

🌿Look for one opportunity today to demonstrate Christ’s love kindness or service.
🌿Share a word of encouragement or your testimony with someone who needs hope.
🌿Trust God’s “Power” to work through your weaknesses or challenges today.
Pray
Almighty God, thank You for the gift of this new day and for the power You have given through Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection make this new life possible. Empower me today to live as Your faithful witness in both my words and my actions. Help me to reflect Your love, extend Your grace, and serve others with humility and compassion. Give me courage to speak truth with kindness, strength to overcome every challenge, and wisdom to follow wherever You lead. May my life point others to Jesus, bringing glory to Your name in all that I do. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
