Holy Wednesday – Word For Today – Devoted
Scripture
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” — Acts 2:42 (ESV)
Devotion – Devoted: A Life Fully Given to God
Today, I reflect on what it means to be “Devoted.” I am grateful to God for the freedom to choose to be “Devoted” in this season of my life, to take intentional time to honor God, serve others without distraction, and choose daily to be “Devoted” to God, in Jesus’ name. With sincerity, I seek to give my best each day, without hesitation, as I grow in practicing the things of God with love and reverence. I ask the Holy Spirit to guide me, help me prioritize time with God through prayer, worship, and love for Jesus. My desire is to become ever stronger as a truly “Devoted” follower and ambassador of Christ. During this Holy Week, may we all be reminded of the power and freedom that come from saying “yes” to Jesus, living as “Devoted” examples of Christ who go into the world as daily ambassadors of Jesus’ love and truth.
Reflection
What does my devotion to God look like in my daily life? Am I giving God my best time, attention, and love, or am I allowing distractions to take priority? To be “Devoted” is not about perfection, it is about intentionality. It is a daily choice to return to God with a willing heart, to stay rooted in Christ, and to live in alignment with the Holy Spirit’s leading. Today invites me to examine my priorities and realign my heart with God’s presence and purpose.
Call to Action
🙏🏾Set aside intentional, uninterrupted time with God today in prayer and Scripture.
🙏🏾Reflect on one area of your life where you need to be more “Devoted” to God.
🙏🏾Serve someone today with love, expecting nothing in return.
🙏🏾Surrender distractions and choose to focus on God’s presence.
🙏🏾Say “yes” to Jesus in a new or renewed way today.
Pray
Gracious and loving God, Thank You for the gift of this day and for the opportunity to be “Devoted” to You. Teach me to prioritize Your presence above all else. Help me to serve with sincerity, love with compassion, and walk in obedience through the power of Your Holy Spirit. Strengthen my heart so that I may grow as a faithful follower and ambassador of Christ. Lord, during this Holy Week, draw me closer to You. Remove distractions, renew my focus, and fill me with a deep desire to live fully for You. I say “yes” to You again today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
