“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Devotion – Press Forward With Purpose
Today, I reflect on the word “Press.” To “Press” is to move forward toward a God-centered, Christ-focused, Holy Spirit-guided goal. We “Press” beyond past mistakes, distractions, and complacency to pursue spiritual growth and God’s purpose for our lives. To “Press” forward is an intentional, daily decision. Even when the journey is difficult, we persevere, trusting God to strengthen and direct us. Today, let us “Press” toward knowing God more deeply, following the example of Jesus, listening to the Holy Spirit, and pursuing spiritual maturity with faith, focus, and determination.
Reflection
What from my past, or in my present, may be distracting me from pressing toward God’s purpose? Where is the Holy Spirit calling me to move forward with greater faith and intention today?
Call to Action
🕊️Release what is behind you, past mistakes, regrets, and distractions.
🕊️Refocus your heart on Christ and God’s purpose for your life.
🕊️Listen for the guidance and promptings of the Holy Spirit.
🕊️Persevere when spiritual growth becomes difficult or uncomfortable.
🕊️Press forward today with faith, purpose, and expectation.
Pray
Gracious God, thank You for the gift of this new day and another opportunity to press forward in faith. In the name of Jesus, help me release the mistakes, disappointments, and distractions of the past. Keep my heart focused on You and the purpose You have prepared for my life. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, choices, words, and actions. When I become weary, strengthen me. When I become distracted, refocus me. When the journey becomes difficult, give me perseverance to keep moving forward. May I press toward knowing You more deeply, becoming more like Christ, and faithfully answering Your upward call. Lead me into greater spiritual maturity so that my life brings glory to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
