Word For Today – Free

Scripture
“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1 ESV
Devotion – Stand Firm in the Freedom of Christ
Today, I reflect on what it means to be truly “Free” in Christ. Jesus paid the price on the cross so that we could live “Free” from fear, guilt, condemnation, and the burden of trying to earn God’s love. Salvation is God’s free gift, received by faith, not human effort or religious performance. We do not need to add human rules to Christ’s finished work. Instead, we are called to follow Jesus, listen to the Holy Spirit, and stand firmly in our freedom. Because Christ has made us “Free,” we can rest in God’s grace, joy, peace, and unfailing love.
Reflection
To be “Free” in Christ does not mean living without direction; it means living under the grace, love, and guidance of God. Today, I choose to receive what Christ has already accomplished for me and walk confidently in the freedom of God’s grace.Am I living each day in the freedom Christ has given me, or am I still carrying burdens of guilt, fear, expectations, or self-condemnation that Jesus has already released me from?

Pray
Gracious God, thank You for this new day and for the freedom You have given me through Jesus Christ. Thank You that I do not have to earn Your love, grace, or acceptance. Jesus has paid the price, and through faith, I receive Your gift of salvation. Help me release fear, guilt, condemnation, and every burden that keeps me from living fully in Your freedom. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, words, decisions, and actions today. Give me strength to stand firm and refuse every yoke that would pull me back into bondage. May I live with joy, peace, confidence, and gratitude, knowing that Your love is not something I achieve but something I freely receive. Let my life help others discover the freedom found in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
