Word For Today – Risen
Scripture
“He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.” — Matthew 28:6 ESV
Devotion – Living in the Power of the Risen Christ
Today I reflect on the spiritual meaning of “Risen.” Faith in the Risen Christ is the core declaration of my faith. The words “He has risen” mark the moment an angel announced that Jesus had conquered death, validating His teachings and offering us eternal hope. Trusting God’s plan to send His Son, Jesus Christ, signifies that sin and death have been defeated. Because Christ is Risen, we are no longer bound by fear, despair, or uncertainty. Through His resurrection, we receive the assurance that God’s promises are true and trustworthy. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead continues to work in and through us today. As followers of Christ, we do not walk alone. The Holy Spirit guides, strengthens, comforts, and directs us in our daily lives. The resurrection is not merely a historical event—it is a living reality that transforms how we live, love, serve, and trust God each day. May we find comfort, power, and rest in the knowledge that Christ is Risen and that all of God’s promises are completely reliable.
Reflection
The resurrection establishes the foundation of our faith and confirms God’s forever promise that all who trust in Christ will share in the same resurrection hope. What areas of your life need the hope and power of the Risen Christ today? How can the certainty of Christ’s resurrection strengthen your trust in God’s promises and inspire you to live with courage, faith, and hope?
