Word For Today – Stronghold

Scripture
“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows those who take refuge in Him.”  Nahum 1:7 ESV

Devotion – God, Our Unshakable Stronghold
Today, I reflect on God as my daily “Stronghold” my place of security, comfort, and strength. In God’s loving presence, I find divine protection, knowing that God watches over me. Through Christ and the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit, God remains my unwavering “Stronghold” my steady refuge in an unpredictable world.  With God as our “Stronghold” we can confidently rely on God’s goodness, care, and faithfulness. In times of distress or uncertainty, God’s unchanging nature gives us the courage to face each new day with hope, trust, and peace.  As our protector, God is unchanging in goodness, offering a safe refuge and knowing each of us personally as we depend on God through Jesus Christ..

Reflection
During this Lenten season, may we let God be our “Stronghold” a source of hope, rest, and strength.  Where have you been seeking security apart from God?  How can you intentionally run to God as your Stronghold today, trusting Him in every circumstance?

Call to Action
🙏🏾Reflect on areas of your life where you need God’s protection and strength.
🙏🏾Pray and declare God as your Stronghold in every situation.
🙏🏾Meditate on Nahum 1:7 and let it anchor your heart in God’s goodness.
🙏🏾Choose trust over fear when facing uncertainty today.
🙏🏾Rest in God’s presence, knowing God knows you and cares for you.

Pray
Merciful God,  Thank You for being my Stronghold, my refuge, and my strength in times of trouble. I trust in Your goodness and Your unchanging nature. When I feel uncertain or overwhelmed, remind me to run to You for safety and peace. Through Jesus Christ, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, help me to stand firm, knowing that You are always with me.  Lord, I surrender my fears and place my trust fully in You. Be my shelter, my protector, and my guide. Strengthen my faith and help me to rest in Your presence each day.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
