The Word For Today – Victory
Scripture
“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith.” 1 John 5:4 ESV
Devotion – Living in the Victory of Christ
Today I reflect on the true meaning of “Victory” found in Christ. My “Victory” is not achieved through personal strength, determination, or willpower, but through unwavering trust in God, in Jesus’ name. Because of Jesus Christ, I have been set free from the power of sin and given the opportunity to live a transformed life through faith. Our spiritual “Victory” begins when we accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, Jesus secured the ultimate victory over sin, death, and the grave. Because we are united with Christ, we no longer live defeated lives. Instead, we walk in the confidence that God is with us, guiding and strengthening us through the power of the Holy Spirit. “Victory” does not mean we will never face challenges, disappointments, or struggles. Rather, it means that no circumstance has the final word over our lives. Through faith, we are empowered to overcome fear, discouragement, temptation, and doubt. The Holy Spirit equips us daily to live as examples of Christ’s love, grace, and truth. Today, let us embrace the assurance that through Jesus Christ, Victory is already ours.
Reflection
“Victory” God has called us to walk boldly in faith, trusting that the One who began a good work in us will continue to lead us forward. In Christ, our identity is rooted in what Christ has already accomplished. We do not fight for “Victory” we live from victory. What challenge, obstacle, or fear do I need to surrender to Christ today so that I may walk confidently in the victory He has already won for me?
