 Word For Today – Awe

Scripture
“Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!”  Psalm 33:8 ESV

Devotion – Living in Awe of God
Today I reflect on the word “Awe.” As I begin this new day, I stand in “Awe” of God’s supreme power, limitless wisdom, and unfailing love. In the name of Jesus, and through the daily guidance of the Holy Spirit, I choose to respond to God’s greatness with reverence, humility, and heartfelt thanksgiving.  To live in “Awe” of God is more than admiring God’s creation, it is recognizing God’s sovereign authority over heaven and earth and allowing that truth to shape the way we live. When we stand in “Awe” of God, our fears become smaller because we remember that the One who created all things is also the One who faithfully sustains us. We are reminded that God’s promises are trustworthy, God’s presence is constant, and God’s grace is sufficient for every season. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, may our hearts remain anchored in God’s faithful provision, choosing worship over worry and trust over uncertainty. As we live with reverent wonder, may our lives reflect the greatness of the God we serve.

Reflection
Today, let us stand in  “Awe” of God with joyful praise, placing our confidence in the authority of God’s Word and embracing the hope found in Christ. What would change in my attitude, decisions, and relationships today if I intentionally lived in continual “Awe” of God’s greatness, trusting God’s promises above my circumstances?

Call to Action
☀️Thank God for who God is before asking for anything.
☀️Pause throughout the day to recognize God’s presence with a sense of “Awe.”
☀️Read Psalm 33 and reflect on God’s power, faithfulness, and steadfast love.
☀️Choose worship over worry by reminding yourself of one promise from God’s Word.
☀️Share with someone one reason you stand in “Awe” of God today.

Pray
Gracious and Almighty God, today I stand in Awe of Your greatness, holiness, and unfailing love. Thank You for creating, sustaining, and faithfully guiding my life. In the name of Jesus, help me to live with reverence, humility, and joyful obedience. Holy Spirit, open my eyes to see Your hand at work throughout this day and teach me to trust Your promises above every circumstance. May my heart remain anchored in Your faithfulness, my words overflow with praise, and my life reflect Your glory. Let all that I do today honor You and point others toward Your amazing grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
