Devotion – Living Each Day As God’s Anointed
Today I reflect on the word “Anointed.” As a believer in Jesus Christ, I have been “Anointed” with the indwelling presence and power of the Holy Spirit. To be “Anointed” is not reserved for a select few but is the gracious gift of God to all who belong to Christ. Through the Holy Spirit, God empowers us to discern truth from error, to walk in obedience, and to live faithfully each day. To be “Anointed” is to be set apart for God’s purposes and equipped to fulfill God’s calling. The Holy Spirit comforts us in times of difficulty, corrects us when we stray, teaches us through God’s Word, encourages us when we grow weary, and faithfully guides us into all truth. As we remain attentive to the Spirit’s leading, our lives become living testimonies of God’s grace, love, and transforming power. The Apostle John reminds believers that they have been “Anointed” by the Holy One. This divine anointing gives us spiritual understanding and confidence, not because of our own wisdom or ability, but because Christ lives within us through the Holy Spirit. Every conversation, every decision, every act of kindness, and every opportunity to serve becomes an opportunity for God’s “Anointed” to be an example of God’s power, hope, and love. Let us walk with humility, depend on the Holy Spirit, and faithfully reflect the love, wisdom, and hope of Jesus Christ in every area of our lives.
Reflection
May we enter this new day with confidence, knowing that in Christ we are “Anointed” to make a positive difference wherever God sends us. Where is God inviting you to rely more fully on the Holy Spirit’s anointing today? Instead of depending solely on your own strength or understanding, pause and ask the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts, words, and actions. God’s anointing is not merely for personal encouragement—it is given so that we may faithfully serve others, glorify Christ, and bring hope into every place we enter.
Call to Action
🙏🏽Thank God who “Anoinated” you in Christ, with the indwelling gift of the Holy Spirit.
🙏🏽Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and discernment as one who is “Anointed.”
🙏🏽Be attentive to opportunities to encourage, serve, or pray for someone today.
🙏🏽Allow God’s Word to shape your t\houghts and actions throughout the day.
🙏🏽Walk confidently, remembering that God has “Anointed” you to be a witness for Jesus Christ wherever you go.
Pray
Gracious God, thank You for anointing me through Jesus Christ with the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank You for Your presence that comforts, teaches, corrects, encourages, and faithfully guides me into all truth. Help me to rely not on my own understanding but on Your wisdom and power each day. Fill my heart with discernment, compassion, humility, and courage so that my life may reflect the character of Christ. May Your anointing empower me to serve faithfully, love generously, and bring hope wherever I go. Use me today to make a positive difference for Your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
