Word For Today – Rooted
Scripture
“Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:7 ESV
Devotion – Rooted and Unshakable
Today, I reflect on what it means to be “Rooted.” I seek and desire to live a life deeply “Rooted” in Jesus Christ, allowing my faith to grow stronger in both my daily walk and spiritual practice. I am grateful for the gift of being “Rooted” and connected to Christ, and for the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit that guide me along the ongoing journey of spiritual maturity. To be “Rooted” means more than belief, it means stability, nourishment, and growth that comes from staying connected to God. Just as roots anchor a tree through storms, our connection to Christ anchors us through life’s uncertainties. When we are firmly planted in Christ , we are strengthened, built up, and established in faith.
Reflection
May our lives be firmly “Rooted” in God’s presence, in Jesus’ name, so we can discern truth from error and remain unshakable in our faith. When we are grounded in Christ, we stand secure no matter what life brings. What areas of my life need deeper roots in Christ today? Am I drawing daily nourishment from His Word and presence, or relying on my own strength?
