Scripture
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” — John 10:27 ESV
Devotion – Listening for the Voice of God
Today, I reflect on what it means to intentionally seek, anticipate, and “Hear” from God, in Jesus’ name. I recommit myself in this new day to be purposeful in my time of reflection and devotion, understanding that to “Hear” from God requires focused time in God’s presence. In a world filled with distractions, noise, and constant activity, God still calls us to pause and become attentive to God’s voice. When I am still and spiritually aware, I begin to “Hear” God speaking through the Holy Spirit, through Scripture, through wise counsel, and through unexpected “aha” moments that bring clarity and direction. God lovingly orders our steps when we are willing to listen and follow. Hearing God is not only about receiving instruction; it is also about experiencing the comfort, peace, and intimacy of God’s presence each day..
Reflection
Let us, in this new day, pause, look, and listen with expectation. As we intentionally make space for God, we will “Hear” from Him more clearly and grow deeper in faith, trust, and obedience. What distractions may be preventing you from clearly hearing God’s voice today? How can you intentionally create moments of stillness and expectation to listen for God’s guidance?
Call to Action
🐏Pause today in complete silence before God.
🐏Reflect on what it means to “Hear” God’s voice.
🐏Write down thoughts, promptings, or insights the Holy Spirit places on your heart.
🐏Be attentive to how God may speak through people or circumstances today.
🐏Trust God enough to act on what God reveals to you.
Pray
Heavenly Father, thank You for being a God who still speaks to Your people. Help me quiet every distraction so that I may clearly hear Your voice and follow where You lead. Fill me with sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and give me wisdom, discernment, and courage to walk in obedience. Teach me to pause, listen, and trust that You are ordering my steps each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
