Word For Today – Perfecter
Scripture
“Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 ESV
Devotion – Jesus, Our Perfecter
Today I reflect on the spiritual meaning of the word “Perfecter” in reference to Jesus and my faith. I thank God for the gift of a new day and for Jesus, who is the “Perfecter” of my faith, faithfully shaping, strengthening, and continuing to complete the work God has begun in me. Jesus not only provides the perfect example of how to walk by faith, but also secured my salvation through Christ’ death and resurrection. Through the daily guidance of the Holy Spirit, Jesus continues to lead, encourage, and transform me. Because of Christ, I can move forward with confidence, knowing that my faith is not dependent upon my own strength but is anchored in Christ’s finished work. When challenges arise, I am reminded to fix my eyes on Jesus rather than my circumstances. Christ endured the cross, overcame shame, and now reigns victorious at the right hand of God. As the Founder and “Perfecter” of our faith, Jesus strengthens us to persevere, equips us to live faithfully, and assures us that we are never alone on this journey. We can rest in the assurance that Christ is our advocate before God and is preparing a place for us in glory.
Reflection
Today, let us trust Jesus as our daily “Perfecter” of our faith, our example, and our eternal hope. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are being shaped into the people God has called us to be What areas of your life need to be surrendered to Jesus, the Perfecter of your faith? How can fixing your eyes on Christ strengthen your trust and perseverance today?

Gracious God, thank You for the gift of Jesus Christ, the Founder and Perfecter of our faith. Thank You for loving us, saving us, and continually shaping us through the power of the Holy Spirit. Help us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus in every season of life. Strengthen us to endure challenges with faith and confidence, trusting that You are completing the work You have begun in us. Guide our steps today and remind us that Christ is our advocate, our example, and our eternal hope. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
