Word For Today – Kingdom
Scripture
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 ESV
Devotion – Kingdom Living: Seeking God First
Today, I reflect on the word “Kingdom.” Kingdom living is an active, daily commitment to faithfully follow Jesus Christ under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. God calls us to seek God’s Kingdom first, submitting our plans, choices, and desires to God’s will. God’s “Kingdom” is already present, yet not fully complete. Through Christ, God is restoring what is broken, bringing healing, hope, and new life. As we enter this new day, may we live with confidence that God’s presence and power are at work and allow God’s “Kingdom” to be revealed through our faithful obedience.
Reflection
“Kingdom” living begins when we allow God to reign in our hearts and direct our lives. Seeking God’s Kingdom first means choosing God’s will above our own and trusting that God is working even when we cannot see the finished result. Every act of love, obedience, forgiveness, compassion, and faithfulness can become evidence of God’s “Kingdom” at work in the world. What area of my life do I need to surrender more fully to God’s Kingdom rule today?

Pray
Gracious God, thank You for the gift of this new day and for inviting me to live as a faithful citizen of Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, help me to seek Your Kingdom and righteousness first. Holy Spirit, guide my thoughts, decisions, words, and actions so that my life reflects God’s loving rule. Where there is brokenness, bring restoration; where there is pain, bring healing; where there is uncertainty, strengthen my faith and hope. Teach me to surrender my will to Yours and trust that You are making all things new. May Your Kingdom be revealed through my obedience, compassion, service, and love today. Let my life point others toward Jesus Christ and bring glory to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
