Devotion – Waiting with Courage and Confidence
As I prepare to worship in community today, I pause to reflect on what it means to “Wait.” In this new day, I recommit myself to “Wait” on the Lord with gratitude, patience, and a deep trust in God’s timing, resisting the urge to give up or lean on my own understanding. To “Wait”on God is to anchor our hope in God’s promises. It is a daily posture of obedience, choosing to live according to the teachings of Jesus Christ while remaining attentive to the quiet promptings and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Waiting on God is never wasted time. It is sacred time in which God strengthens our faith, shapes our character, and prepares us for what lies ahead. The world often urges us to rush, react, and rely on our own abilities. Yet God’s Word reminds us that true strength is found in trusting God’s perfect timing. To “Wait” on the Lord does not mean doing nothing; it means actively praying, worshiping, serving, and remaining faithful while expecting God to move. It is an active expression of faith, marked by trust, surrender, courage, and spiritual attentiveness. When we “Wait” we discover that it is a season of preparation, renewal, and hope.
Reflection
Let us bring expectant hearts when we choose to “Wait” on the Lord, let it become our worship, our patience become praise, and our confidence rest not in our circumstances but in the unchanging faithfulness of God. In Christ. When we “Wait” we discover that it is a season of preparation, renewal, and hope.

Pray
Gracious and Faithful God, thank You for this new day and for the gift of gathering in worship with Your people. Teach me to wait upon You with patience, courage, and unwavering trust. When I am tempted to rush ahead or rely on my own understanding, remind me that Your timing is always perfect. Strengthen my heart through the power of the Holy Spirit, and help me remain faithful, obedient, and attentive to Your voice. May my waiting become an act of worship, my hope remain firmly anchored in Your promises, and my life reflect the peace that comes from trusting You completely. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, I pray. Amen.
